We are proud and delighted to hear that Paul Warbrick has been appointed Kaihautu – Strategic Māori Partnerships at Whakatāne District Council, and will form part of the leadership team at Council.

This role will see Paul return home. Previously, he worked  in Rotorua where he was Pou Tairangahau – Strategic Relationship and Iwi Manager for Te Papa Atawhai. Prior to that, Paul has worked in the private sector and the Navy. He grew up here in Whakatāne and has whakapapa to Ngāti Rangitihi, Ngāti Awa, and Tūwharetoa ki Kawerau.

“This appointment is a fantastic example of how our people can be involved in shaping the way organisations engage with Iwi and Māori,” says Te Mana Chairman Leith Comer.

“On behalf of Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust, we extend a huge congratulations to Paul on this significant appointment, and we look forward to seeing the progress he makes as he fulfils his passion to serve his whānau, hapū and iwi and build strong relationships and partnerships across the rohe.”
