We are incredibly pleased to confirm the Ngāti Rangitihi Deed of Settlement Signing Ceremony will take place on Saturday 5 December 2020 at Rangitihi Marae, and all our Ngāti Rangitihi whānau are invited.

Below is the official programme for the day:

10.00: First pōwhiri (Ngāti Rangitihi and neighbouring iwi who have travelled to be here)
11.30am: Second pōwhiri (Government officials, Government entities and local Councils)
1.00pm: Signing of the Deed of Settlement
2.00pm: Kai
3.00pm–6.00pm: Entertainment

This is a momentous occasion for our Iwi and to be able to hold this event this year is great news.

Make sure you RSVP now
We need to get a firm idea of how many of our whānau will be attending. We would like as many of our whānau there as possible to join in the celebrations.

This will be a big event, so we need to ensure we are prepared and can cater for all those who are intending to attend. If you are able to join the celebrations, please RSVP by emailing info@ngatirangitihi.iwi.nz or calling us on 0800 AKATEA to let us know.

Registration to attend the signing is compulsory (for catering and contact tracing purposes). Registrations close on Monday 30 November.

If whānau are planning to stay overnight at Rangitihi Marae (on Friday 4 December or Saturday 5 December) please also let us know using the above contact details so we can make sure the appropriate arrangements are in place.

Note: If Aotearoa moves up an Alert Level from Alert Level 1 due to COVID-19, or in the event there is a tangihanga, the event will be postponed to a later date.

Art exhibition – call for artists
This event will also be an opportunity to share the talents of our Ngāti Rangitihi whānau. We are calling for expressions of interests for artists to display their art in a special exhibition on the day.

Share your photos

We are organising for a photo display of Ngāti Rangitihi uri and our beautiful whenua and awa to feature on the day.

If you have any photos to share, please email these to us, or bring them to the Te Mana office (Arawa Street, Matatā) so we can scan them.

Thank you for your incredible support whānau. We are looking forward to seeing you at the signing, if you can make it.
